Product Details

Explore the musical brilliance of Billie Holiday with 'The Quintessential Billie Holiday Volume 2'. This vinyl LP compilation, remastered from original stereo master tapes, is a part of the Columbia Jazz Masterpieces series. It was released in 1987 in the US under the Columbia label (CJ 40790). The album features a mix of classic jazz and swing tracks. Some of the standout songs include 'Life Begins When You're In Love', 'It's Like Reaching For The Moon', and 'These Foolish Things'. The recording sessions took place in New York City at 1776 Broadway between January and October 1936, with contributions from Teddy Wilson & His Orchestra and Billie Holiday & Her Orchestra. The album was digitally engineered and mastered at CBS Studio in New York by Larry Keyes and Vlado Meller respectively. The production was overseen by Bernie Hanighen, John Hammond, and Michael Brooks (2). Many talented musicians participated, such as Artie Bernstein on bass, Artie Shaw on clarinet, and Cozy Cole on drums. The front jacket shows the title as 'The Quintessential Billie Holiday Volume 2', while the spine has 'The Quintessential Billie Holiday, Volume II'. Barcode: 07464407901.

Using this Billie Holiday vinyl LP is easy. Just place it on your record player, gently drop the needle on the start of the groove, and let the music play. Make sure your record player is in good working condition for the best sound quality. When handling the vinyl, always hold it by the edges to avoid getting fingerprints on the playing surface. Fingerprints can cause crackles and pops in the sound. Store the record in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. This helps prevent warping, which can ruin the listening experience. If you notice any dust on the record, use a soft record brush to gently clean it before playing. Enjoy this timeless collection of jazz and swing music by Billie Holiday for years to come.
