Product Details

This is the third issue of the CBS Laboratories Professional Test Record. It comes from the US and was released in 1973. The label is CBS Laboratories – STR 100, part of the Technical Series. It's a vinyl LP in stereo format, with a non - music genre and technical style. The record has detailed frequency tests on both sides. For example, on side A, there are left and right sweep frequency tests, tone arm resonance tests, and reference tones. Side B includes playback loss tests, lateral and vertical tracking tests. It was issued over 3 different releases. This package includes two four - page inserts, one for engineers and another as a reference for other CBS test records. There were some typos on the labels which have been corrected in the tracklist. The runouts have minimal etchings, and there's a difference in frequency unit notation between the text and labels.

To use this test record, simply place it on your turntable like any other LP. It's great for testing the performance of your audio system, such as frequency response, tone arm resonance, and tracking ability. When playing, make sure your turntable is clean and in good working condition. As for maintenance, store the record in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep it in its sleeve to prevent scratches. If it gets dirty, use a proper record cleaning solution and a soft brush. Don't touch the grooves with your fingers as it can leave oils and dirt. Also, be aware that the labels use the older 'CPS' unit, while the text uses 'Hz', but this won't affect how you use the record.
